LWW 184: Dealing with Disappointment

What have they been up to since the last episode?

TB has been busy juggling 3 writing projects, including one that’s a little terrifying. Also, TB got some island time!

Photo of ClareClare’s main project right now is watching the Women’s World Cup. She’s also been trying Facebook ads because she heard a rumor the targeting has improved. Can Clare crack the Facebook ads code for all sapphic authors?

They move on to the topic: dealing with disappointment.

They focus on not being included on recommendation lists. What’s the best way to deal with it? Clare and TB come at the question differently, but they agree on one big point. Have a listen to learn how they deal with it and what they choose to focus on.

  1. Thank you for discussing this. I thought I was the only one dealing with this.

Regarding FB ads, I targeted movies and television crime fiction shows with female protagonists and narrowed it with the Fiction books interest.

I also mentioned in the first line of my ad text that is is for people who are progressive, banned book lovers, and who value diversity. Included the same at the top of the Amazon book description.

    I’m getting good results.

  2. Bonnie Peterson says:

You guys are the very BEST! I’ve read most of your books, especially the ones from 2019 to date.
I have a question for TB, are you and Miranda MacLeod a couple? If not you really should be, you’re perfect for each other.
Clare speaks of her wife on occasion but TB hasn’t mentioned anyone since the “partner” in London and Ireland.
I realize its none of my business but I feel like I know and like all three of you. Please keep doing what you’re doing.
TB, Clare and Miranda are my online friends.
    All the best, Bon
