LWW 156: What Are You Doing for You?

TB is neck deep in getting her pride novel ready for the June 1 launch. But it’s even more complicated, because there are 8 books in the Pride Collection, so, she’s coordinating 8 authors and let’s just say, being organized isn’t TB’s jam. The rebranding of IHL to I Heart SapphFic is making everything take so long and TB is kicking herself for launching the Pride Collection and changing the website all at once. Did we mention she’s a terrible planner?

Clare’s book is back from the editor and she’s been avoiding like a pro. It should be noted, her father’s funeral is this week, so it’s understandable. She’s been doing bits and bobs with social media and getting admin work out of the way. In good news, Clare attended a Tottenham match, and they won! In giggling news, Clare rediscovered a beaver fever shirt from her teen years.

They crack on to the topic: what are you doing for you this year? It’s important to make time for yourself and have a listen to see how Clare and TB spend their “me” time.

What are you doing for you this year?

Head over to lesbianswhowrite.com, and leave a comment on the episode. Or you can email them at: lesbianswhowrite@gmail.com.

They’ll be back next week with more sparkly conversation.

Happy listening!

Clare and TB

Hi T.B.! Thank you very much for responding to my previous message. Yes, I did find the old episodes and I’m now on #7. Again I listened to them on Eurostar (second trip to UK) but also on my 3 hour train journey to Halifax, the “lesbian capital of the world “. This is the trip that I wanted to take since 2019 when GJ aired on HBO but couldn’t because of COVID travel restrictions. I’m listening to your latest episode in my hotel room after I spent the whole day at Shibden Hall, the home of Anne Lister, the all around lesbian Goddess incarnate 🙂 I really enjoyed visiting both the Hall and the Shibden Park. There is a Pride flag planted right in the middle of the park. Everyone in Halifax is very nice and friendly. There are references to AL all over town. All in all, I highly recommend the trip to anyone who is interested in Anne Lister and her diaries – assure you that you will not be disappointed.

This year I’m committed to doing fun hair styles and colors for myself since I recently started working in the emergency room full time and it’s stressful. I’m also trying to read more books that I enjoy. Hopefully, once mt nephew is born I can take time off to go visit my brother and the new baby.

I love your way with coping with stress and I admire you’re ability to work in an ER. Fingers crossed you get to see the new baby soon!
