Also, doing book research on different ways to kill people has resulted with some interesting internet responses. Clare’s in a different spot when it comes to covers. She has two for the football book. Will she share one with TB? Clare’s laser focused on her 2023 goal and has attended a handful of football games.

They crash on to the topic: business and marketing books. TB, being the history nut, shares books that helped guide her early on in her career. Hi.

Have you covered the subject of funding the editing and publishing of a first book? Especially if the author is on a fixed income.

Thanks for all the helpful info you ladies provide.

Totally agree on Get Rich, Lucky Bitch — learning to embrace abundance mindset and accepting that it’s a lifelong journey and that this is ok, literally saved my life. I recommend the book to everyone I can and am reading it to my sister. The book I recommend to authors is The Freelancer’s Survival Guide by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. It’s a big book, but each section was also published as its own smaller book, so don’t let the amount of information intimidate, it’s easy to take in chunks and skip around the sections. It’s technically a collection of blog posts she wrote, which I believe are still available to read for free on her site. But it’s an excellent overview of all the things you need to know when going into business for yourself — which is what publing is, regardless of indie trad hybrid whatever. If you don’t know what you don’t know, start here. If you do know some things, you’ll still learn something new.
And for the ama, I’d like to know what you think about monetizing newsletter subscriptions for authors? I’m hearing more about this lately
